Wild Rice with Cherries and Hazelnuts

Wild Rice with Cherries & Hazelnuts
Yields 4-6 servings


1½ C. Shiloh Farms Organic Wild Rice, sorted & rinsed
3 C. water
½ tsp. Shiloh Farms Himalayan Pink Salt 
½ C. Shiloh Farms Organic Sour Red Cherries
½ C. Shiloh Farms Organic Hazelnuts, lightly toasted & chopped

½ C. fresh basil, chopped (optional)
1 tsp. Shiloh Farms Raw Alfalfa Honey or pure maple syrup


1. Bring water to boil in a large pot; add wild rice and salt and return to boil
2. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 40-50 minutes, or until rice has started to swell open and is tender; drain off any extra liquid
3. In large bowl, combine cooked rice with cherries, hazelnuts, basil, and sweetener of choice; serve warm

Variation: Use the same basic flavor combination to make a sweeter version perfect for breakfast or a late-night snack. Just omit the basil and increase honey or syrup to taste. Top with yogurt or milk.
