Deeply red, delightfully chewy, & bracingly tartsweet,sour red cherries are a feast for the eyes as well as the tastebuds! Rich in antioxidants,they are especially high in Vitamins A & C.
To Rehydrate: Cover 1 part fruit with 2 parts water or juice. Refrigerate 2-3 hours,or until fruit has absorbed liquid & is plump to touch. Drain.
Suggestions:
1. Add sour red cherries to trail mixes and granolas.
2. Sprinkle on top of salads, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, or ice cream.
3. Rehydrate cherries for pie fillings, or add to muffins, pancakes, or waffles.
4. Substitute sour cherries for cranberries or other dried fruits in baked goods.
5. Add tart-sweet flavor to salads, stuffings, pilafs, and other grain dishes.
Storage: For optimal shelf life, store in a cool dry place.
