Sprouted Spelt Pancakes
Yields 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
1 C. PureLiving Sprouted Spelt Flour (alternative: PureLiving Sprouted Hard Wheat Flour)
½ tsp. SHILOH FARMS Himalayan Pink Salt
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 large organic egg
¼ C. maple syrup
¼ C. organic plain yogurt
2 Tbsp. melted butter
¾ cup water
1 tsp. vanilla extract (optional)
Directions:
1. Add dry ingredients (through baking powder) to mixing bowl and stir to combine; set aside
2. In a separate large mixing bowl, beat egg slightly before stirring in syrup, yogurt, butter, water, and vanilla; mix until well blended
3. Add dry ingredients to the wet and stir until just combined
Tip: For variety, try adding SHILOH FARMS Allergen Free Dark Chocolate Chips or your favorite SHILOH FARMS nuts or dried fruits to the mix before cooking
4. Drop batter by ¼ cupfuls onto a heated, greased griddle; cook 2-3 minutes, or until bottoms are golden and small bubbles start to form on top; flip and cook an additional 2-3 minutes on other side until browned
Tip: For waffles, follow directions on waffle iron for proper cooking times
5. Top with maple syrup or fruit and serve
