Muesli Style Oat Groats
Yields 2 servings
Ingredients:
3 C. water
1 C. Shiloh Farms Organic Oat Groats, sorted and rinsed
½ tsp. Shiloh Farms Himalayan Pink Salt
1 medium apple, grated
¼ C. apple juice
¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
¼ C. Shiloh Farms Organic Dried Cranberries
¼ C. Shiloh Farms Organic Walnuts or Pecans, finely chopped
¼ C. Shiloh Farms Organic Shelled Sunflower Seeds
Shiloh Farms Raw Alfalfa Honey, to taste
Plain yogurt
Directions:
1. Bring water to a boil, then add oats and salt; cover and simmer until oats are just tender, about 40 minutes
2. Drain off excess water and return pan to medium heat; add grated apple, apple juice, cinnamon, and cranberries and simmer until heated through, about 5-10 minutes
3. Stir in nuts, sunflower seeds, and honey (or other natural sweetener of choice) to taste
4. Divide between two bowls; serve warm, topped with a generous spoonful of yogurt
Variations:
• For more flavor, toast nuts and sunflower seeds before adding.
• Try different combinations of your favorite nuts, seeds, and dried fruits in roughly equivalent amounts.
